APPLICATION OF THE THEORY OF PLANNED OF BEHAVIOR TOWARDS HYPERTENSION PREVENTION BEHAVIOR IN THE COASTAL AREA OF SITUBONDO DISTRICT
Abstract
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that can cause sudden death. Hypertension is influenced by several factors such as high sodium intake, smoking, alcoholic drinks, and minimal physical activity. The Planned Theory of Behavior is a theory that can be used to analyze a person's behavior. The Planned Theory of Behavior consists of background factors (age, gender, job, education, media exposure, experience, and knowledge), behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs, and control beliefs. This research aims to analyze the prevention of hypertension in the coastal area of Situbondo District using the Theory of Planned Behavior. The research design used cross-sectional. The research population was 150 respondents in coastal areas, namely PKM Mangaran, PKM Panarukan, and PKM Panji. The research was conducted in February-March 2024. The research sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using ordinal regression statistical tests. The research results showed that there was an influence between the three variables studied, namely behavioral beliefs, control beliefs, and normative beliefs on hypertension prevention behavior in the Coastal Area of Situbondo Regency.
